Life is inconsistent
Think about it, the one aspect which is virtually accepted by most cultures as being correct is that life has no predictability. Whether you believe humans have a predestined path, we can’t foresee it, and if you believe that humans pave their own path, you still cannot be fully safe from adversity or even know what path you will end up following until the end.
Nature is the life of our planet, it is what gives our world its aliveness, vibrancy, and this sense of warmness. What most of us perceive as being the world around us is nothing more than just what we have built as a species. There is nothing natural about huge rectangular boxes, fast-moving metal cages and so on. Thus, nature, which is the closest thing to life itself, is inconsistent. Nature, and thus life, is inconsistent.
Look at this ^
It is a chaotic sight, nothing close to serenity and peace if you dissect it.
(Even though, nature is considered to instill pure joy into humans, and I agree, but that is possible because of the duality between order and chaos, you perceive the chaos that is nature itself as order, thus the interplay of the two perceptions.)
So, you see, all the falling water, splashing everywhere, against the rocks, marking its path. The moving tree branches which throw leaves around from time to time, nothing is uniform.
Besides that, you cannot even control any of these factors. The human mind has the tendency to wish for order and truly believe in the possibility of achieving that state of existence, but in my opinion, it is a mere facade, a lie told to your face by something which will never be able to even face you, your mind, your void, the invisible source of your knowledgeable thoughts. But, even with that wishful thinking, order will never truly rule our world, which means that the inconsistency found within chaos will consistently resurface and take the reins.
We are inconsistent as well
We, the people, are inconsistent as well, and we are allowed to be, because we also lively and vibrant. So many people are scared of accepting this chaos within and they keep fighting against their own nature, to no avail, obviously, which just causes more distress and neuroticism. If you continue to be part of that large crowd, living by unrealistic, and honestly impossible standards, then the only standards you will reach will be the bottom ones.
(Small addition, do not always be overly obsessed with more and more. Greed is the killer of joy, and of progress. How? Well, if you turn a 5/10 situation into a 10/10 situation, and you are still just as discontent and disgusted with your life, that 10/10 will become the new 5/10. In your eyes, you will never evolve and become better. That’s a horrible existence.)
So, if we should embrace inconsistency, how do we do that? Well, we simply stop worrying so much about change. The act of changing, of becoming and being different the conversion from A to B, this is actually the point of life. Never let yourself stagnate. Go from A to B to C to D to better, constantly.
If you look at it correctly, change does not have to be a worse outcome. Aim to evolve. Evolution is a subsection of change, but the positive version of it. You should not be embarrassed because you actually search for something better instead of being content with a mediocre situation, to a degree, of course.
The point is: Do not be afraid to change your mind. Your thoughts and beliefs make up who you are. Do not let anybody tell you that it is not acceptable to update your beliefs over time. If you have ever made a bold statement that you stand by, you obviously changed your mind before, not only because life can never be accurately depicted by bold statements, but by nuanced ones, but also because you are bound to evolve over time and change your mind.
My life’s motto, my beloved phrase:
“Evolve, one thought at a time.”
This phrase actually depicts everything that somebody needs to do in order to have a stable and exceptional life, combining the two to create something beautiful, a state of actual joy.
Here’s a breakdown of my phrase:
Evolve, one thought at a time.
That's my motto.
What does it mean?
It's a phrase that encapsulates everything I stand for.
Understanding it will help you develop yourself properly.
So, let me explain.
In life, you mustn't change, but evolve.
Changing is a word with negative connotations when using it to refer to people.
People are scared of change, because it symbolizes potential chaos.
But, you must evolve as a person.
You cannot stay tied down to your past self.
And, you must go through this evolution by thinking.
Even ONE thought could change your whole perspective,
Thus, pushing you further to becoming your best self.
When wanting to take decisions, you think.
When wanting to discover something, you think.
It's all about thinking.
But, you must do it one at a time.
You cannot rush evolution, let alone "change" as they say.
Everything in life is gradual.
You must take it slow, and learn along the way.
Patience is the trait you need for success,
Yet, it is the trait no one seems to desire anymore.
Be inconsistent with a scope
So, I believe that it is helpful and expected for you to change your mind and keep evolving as long as you are doing it for a good cause. I’m neither trying to push fake morality down your throat, nor am I trying to advertise a degree of psychopathy. Obviously, you can use inconsistency and human nature in order to never take accountability for your words, but that is not what strong and virtuous men do. Use this ability to comprehend life and its intricacies more and more everyday in order to make your life better, and as a result, help those around you.
Be noble in your thoughts. Here’s a quote from the Bible:
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”
From my understanding, this Bible verse is supposed to encourage noble thinking and acting. Many people get caught up in sin and expedient acts, and the cure to that is simply to surround yourself with things worth being around. Never value yourself at a level as low as these sinful acts.
To end this of beautifully, whatever your scope might be, make sure it is true to who you want to be perceived and remembered as. Do not let your legacy become an echo chamber of ideas you do not believe in. I want you to remember that there will be times in life, when evil attacks you. The tests are real, and spotting them when they are taking course is a skill in itself. Remain vigilant, and stay on the right path. Full focus.
